Security Systems
Retail security systems are an effective means of protecting your profits. Both shop theft and staff fraud are day-to-day realities for all retailers. When conventional means of apprehension become too costly or ineffective, retail owners look to the world of technology for solutions. Many retailers are installing Electronic Article Surveillance (EAS) systems as a means of deterring theft.
An EAS system consists of one or more sensors positioned at the exits of the store, and a range of tags attached to the goods to be secured against shoplifting. The alarm is triggered when the sensors detect a tag that was not de-activated at the register during a legitimate purchase.
This type of system has been implemented in retail locations worldwide, and the decrease in losses has proved to exceed the cost of such systems by far.
